The biggest comic book convention of the year begins tomorrow, and we couldn’t be more excited! San Diego Comic Con doesn’t just feature comics though! It’s practically just the biggest overall pop culture convention in the world, so we can expect plenty of big video game news over the next four days. Here is what to expect from San Diego Comic-Con this year in the world of gaming!
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Symbiotic Relationships (Thursday)

Marvel has recently announced that the directors and cast of the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be uniting for the official Symbiotic Relationships Panel. According to Marvel: “Insomniac Games’ creative director Bryan Intihar, game director Ryan Smith, narrative director Jon Paquette, and senior art director Jacinda Chew are joined by actors Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker), Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales), Laura Bailey (Mary Jane Watson), and Tony Todd (Venom), along with vp & creative director Bill Rosemann from Marvel Games, to discuss the upcoming PlayStation 5 game.” Given the nature of the panel, we can expect to see some behind the scenes glimpses into the exciting symbiote at the forefront of the story!
Making Immortals of Aveum

One of the biggest gaming announcements of the summer was the unveiling of Immortals of Aveum. An upcoming FPS from Electronic Arts, this game will uniquely feature a combat system of over 25 magic spells and an expansive talent tree. At Comic Con this year, "Bret Robbins (CEO, game director at Ascendant Studios), Dave Bogan (art director at Ascendant Studios), and Julia Lichtblau (associate art director at Ascendant Studios) will discuss the making of the game, diving into its deep lore and world building, as well as its magic system and cast of characters. Hosted by Lucy James (senior gaming producer, Fandom)."
SILENT HILL: Ascension and Genvid Slate Reveal (Friday)

The time has finally come for more news on Silent Hill: Ascension. Hosted by Greg Miller, this panel will feature staff from Konami and Genvid Entertainment as we learn more about just what Silent Hill: Ascension really is. All fans currently know is that it’s a television show where the viewers will determine the plot in real time. The staff at Konami and Genvid Entertainment are promising to fully showcase the "unique approach to the narrative, characters, and lore of upcoming projects, where fans are empowered to make significant decisions that influence the story and canon of these series".
Resetting Mortal Kombat: A New Beginning with Mortal Kombat 1 (Friday)

The recently announced Mortal Kombat 1 has been taking the gaming world by storm, and for good reason! A reimagining of the series, NetherRealm Studios’ newest installment is looking to reinvent and upgrade the gameplay in very interesting ways! We can likely expect some big news or reveals, as “Panelists include Ed Boon (chief creative officer, NetherRealm Studios, and co-creator of Mortal Kombat), Dominic Cianciolo (story director, NetherRealm Studios), and Thiago Gomes (art development director, NetherRealm Studios), and actors Vincent Rodriguez III (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, With Love) as Raiden, Kelly Hu (X2: X-Men United, BMF, Young Justice) as a character to be revealed at the panel, Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Ben 10 franchise) and some surprise guest panelists.”
