The Mana Summer of Movies Begins 🎥

Mana: Summer of Movies

We’re only a month or so out from summer now, and we all know what that means… a whole bunch of summer blockbusters are on the horizon! We have to admit, this year is looking particularly stacked! 👀From long-awaited sequel horror flicks to animated action on a multiversal scale, there’s something for everyone this summer! Here are the six summer movies we are most excited for, here at Mana:

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (June 2nd)

Were you expecting anything else to start off this list? Frankly, who isn’t excited for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse? Many fans have been waiting for this one since the minute they walked out of seeing Into the Spider-Verse. Releasing five years after the first one, Across the Spider-verse is poised to take the concept of the multiverse to new, epic heights! With a third film and a spinoff film already in the works, this blockbuster is destined to be the next hit in a series that will dominated the landscape of animated movies for the decade to come.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (June 9th)

Mana users… assemble! No matter what era it is, there is one thing that can always be counted on. Transformers movies being a real treat for all ages. Rise of the Beasts takes us back before the original Transformers movie, but after 2018’s sleeper hit Bumblebee. With rising director Steven Caple Jr. at the helm, Peter Cullen returning to breathe life into Optimus Prime yet again, and a whole host of 90’s music to stay true to the setting, Rise of the Beasts is a crowd-pleaser to look out for.

Insidious: The Red Door (July 7th)

Taking place ten years after the second film, Insidious: The Red Door takes us back to the iconic Josh Lambert (played brilliantly by Patrick Wilson) and his family. Not only is Patrick Wilson back to show off his excellent horror acting chops… he’s also here to make his directorial debut! Given how much he seems to truly love the franchise, we’re confident he’s going to make this installment one of the best ones yet!

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (July 12th)

Arriving five years after Fallout, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One takes the adventures of Ethan Hunt (Cruise) to a whole new level. With the stakes higher than ever and an exciting cast of new and old characters, this action spy film is guaranteed to be one of the most thrilling films of the summer.

Oppenheimer (July 21st)

The latest film from beloved director Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer takes a deep dive into the life of the theoretical physicist who fathered the atomic bomb. Featuring an explosive cast led by esteemed Nolan film regular Cillian Murphy, this is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Barbie (July 21st)

Helmed by the incredible visionary Greta Gerwig, Barbie could very well turn out to be one of the best films of the summer. Honestly, the fact that Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are leading the charge is enough incentive for many to catch this flick in theaters. But combined with great set pieces, a new narrative twist, and three-time Academy Award nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, Barbie is bound to be a hit for all ages.
