SIFU (2022):

flip out your Cobra Kai moves, it’s time to avenge your father! Roguelike, but packed with action, Sifu follows a child of a martial art school’s master that gets murdered by… well, we’re not gonna spoil that. Rest assured though, there are plenty of beat ‘em up opportunities as you move through a modern, but gritty urban setting.

Plate Up! (2022):

feel the chaos of a busy kitchen, decorate your restaurant, manage different locations, discover new dishes… whew! Plate Up! is sure to keep you entertained if the food business is your thing. With constant progression you can start over if your yummy empire fails, and even hire your friends to lend a hand.

Platform: Microsoft Windows

Backbone (2021):

have a thing for the noir aesthetic? This oldschool-like RPG, set in a dystopian version of Vancouver, might be your next favorite title. Assume the role of – duh – a private detective in an eerie world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, where your next case might be more personal than you bargained for.

Platforms: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch

Blind Fate: Edo no Yami (2022):

ah, the soulslike games… does anyone else have a love/hate relationship with them? Well, here’s one that will take you to a post-apocalyptic Japan ruled by the merciless shogunate. You execute their orders – until you’re left blind and dependent on a mask allowing you to see a simulation of your surroundings… which isn’t always accurate. Fight your way through this dark world using sounds, smells and heat detection, and face robotic monsters taken straight out of Japanese folklore!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S

Wildermyth (2021):

we all have been through the humble beginnings of protagonists in every single RPG, but Wildermyth answers a question other games don’t: what happens to the heroes once their grand adventure is over? Build a team of customizable characters and watch their progression from the times of sharp sticks to those of glory and reminiscence. Story-changing decisions, rich campaigns and tactical combat give the nostalgic DnD vibe… with a little humorous twist. Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac operating systems
